In a Pennsylvania college dorm room in 1985 a young Bill Gamber started a little company called Bwear Action Products, also, known as BAP! “B” standing for Bill (NOT to be confused with Big Agnes, another small company he started later. Why he named the companies with similar acronyms? We will never know.)
Just like a young Jay-Z hustling his rap tapes out of the back of his car to get his music into as many hands that would listen, a young Bill Gamber hustled his goods out of the back of his Jetta every weekend at running, triathlon, and bike races, enthusiastic to get his bike and triathlon shorts on as many racers as possible! “Can’t knock the hustle!” “Stack rocks like Colorado.” “Bottle of the champagne (powder), crystals by the bottle.”
In 1990 Bill incorporated BAP! and began to having visions of big trout and deep Champagne Powder dancing around his head. He gave up the city hustle and moved to the small mountain town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado to bring BAP to the masses (of the Yampa Valley.) In 1995 a local business The Yarn Yard known for its striking red exterior based out of a little house on Oak St. went out of business and the house was up for grabs. Bill moved BAP in, outfitting all of the Yampa Valley from ski patrollers, Nordic teams, local businesses and everything in between!
Some time later he started 2 other companies that you may have heard of, Big Agnes in 2000 and Honey Stinger in 2002 and they say the rest is history.
